Getting To Know Me: The 5 W's
Who:
My first name is Catriona, but I go by Cat. I am the twenty-three year old single mother to my jumping bean ("Clarabeth") and special-needs sweetie ("CocoPuff"). We're usually on the go running between doctor's appointments, playdates, and homeschooling. I have a long family history of obesity and type 2 diabetes - a history I want to break with myself and my children.
What:
Working to get healthy and lose weight the old fashioned way. I don't have a babysitter for the gym, room for TV workouts, or money for special shakes and magic pills. Something that I hope makes this blog special is that every exercise will be done with both kids in toe, every meal will be for two (good thing my daughter loves her veggies), and all done on a shoe-string budget.
When:
Short-Term Goal: Lose 3lbs a week, cut out fast food, exercise 3 days a week
Mid-Term Goal: Lose 60lbs, eat twice as many fresh/organic/homemade than I do prepackaged, exercise 5 days a week
Long-Term Goal: Reach pre-pregnancy weight of 180lbs and MAINTAIN, reduce symptoms of asthma, have healthy BMI.
Where:
Small town in the Northwest.
Why:
Why is a great question...
Because I want to be able to run.
Because I want to go down the slide with my kids.
Because I want to wear a shirt and the size not to begin with "X"
Because I want to sit in the booth off a restaurant any my stomach not touch.
Because I want to take my kids to the fair and not worry about being able to fit
Because I want to my fridge door to hold the milk and not my next dose of insulin
Because I want to PROVE that it can be done, that I can do it, and anyone else can too!

Seeing the goal...
While exploring Pinterest in search of new inspiration for my Be Healthy! board I found My Virtual Model.
It's a great visual as I begin my journey into healthy living and weight loss :) I haven't weighed 200lbs since the birth of my daughter nearly 7 years ago. I'm ready though! I may never have a bikini body or flat tummy, but I will be able to RUN at the park with my kids, JOG without needing a nebulizer treatment, and LIVE knowing I can anything I set my mind too.
